He said it should be the battery itself and replaced my battery. He even showed me the tool (I believe voltmeter) showing that it is in the green (OK) part. That guy tested my alternator and said there is no problem. This time they came up with a problem not related to battery in order not to change their faulty battery! They said the alternator needs to be changed and it will cost me $600-700! I didn't want them to change the alternator and went to another mechanic. When I brought it in, they again did a test to see if it is the battery (as before). I was expecting them to change the faulty battery since it has warranty and it hasn't been even 50 days after the purchase. After jump-start I drove my car a bit to charge the battery and I was able to bring the car to PepBoys the next day. After 7 days of rest, the battery was fully empty this time. Then, I didn't use my car for 7 days due to COVID19 problem. Also, the next day (since the battery was charged from alternator) I was able to drive again without any problem. However, I was able to drive once it is started. After this 6 day period when I needed my car, the battery hardly started the car. After that I had to park my car for 6 days since I didn't need the car. I do not think Manny, Moe & Jack had this in mind when it comes to the principle of “treating customers as we ourselves would like to be treated.” On this day there was no honesty or straightforward dealings, No Code of Ethics to follow, only misconduct and excuses.Īfter PepBoys put their battery, I frequently (everyday) used my car for 20-25 days. After all, if you take care of the customer, the rewards are preeminent. To me, it makes perfect sense to please and satisfy your customers…and then some.and then some more. I JUST DON’T GET IT I don’t get how a service-oriented business nowadays could not take the Jeff Bezos approach in how they deal with customers. I took my car to another shop to be repaired. Apparently, I didn't spend enough money, and I believe ** pinched the line to create work so that he'll be seen as a valuable employee. I asked, “How do you explain the trail of Brake Fluid from my car leading back into the Garage?” Charles said nothing. ** (manager) told me that he thinks the brake line burst came as I attempted to leave out the parking lot. I HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES PRIOR TO MY VISIT!! I also noticed a tiny trail of brake fluid leading all the way back into the Pep Boys Service Garage. I got out of my car, and I noticed a puddle of fresh brake fluid on the ground right where my car was parked. As I turned the car on and began to back out of the parking space, the brake peddle went all the way to the floor. I opened the trunk to get a spray disinfect and a rag to thoroughly wipe down all the interior areas that the mechanic may have touched. ** then told me he would “ring me up” and my car would be ready in a few minutes.Īs I walked towards my car, I noticed two Pep Boys Mechanics standing at the Service Garage Opening watching me. This keeps the tires clean, hydrated, and shiny". I added, "After washing my car twice a week, I spray the tires with Armor All Tire Foam. I informed him that the Ball Joints were just replaced 5 months ago at a North Side Midas. ** then chimed in saying, "The Front Ball Joints were bad, and your tires are dry and rotting". I told ** I did not need the extra service.
